Surrealism

Photo is taken by Jerry Uelsmann

Surrealism is when you make something that doesn’t exactly make sense. It would be something that you would see in your dreams.  Surrealism could be anything that isn’t actually real. An example could be pigs flying in the sky because realistically, pigs can’t fly. Surrealism isn’t supposed to make sense. It could be anything an artist or photographer wants it to be.  It could be from the wildest of things, to just things that don’t fit in place. If it makes sense, it will not be surrealism. Surrealism is mostly based off creative and unrealistic situations.

I picked this photo by Jerry Uelsmann. I chose this photo because it has great surrealism. Trees and land can’t float at all. This image doesn’t and isn’t suppose to make sense. There is also a hole left from the floating land. This is a photo you would see in your dream. Either way, this photo has an unrealistic take and that’s what makes this photo stands out.
