Black & White/ Shades of Gray

Black & White Photography Synopsis

Black & White Photography is unique by removing away color and allowing the viewer to focus on other art elements. Shooting in RAW helps a colorless image pop out more with the intense details. Using contrast is important since it will deepen shadows and brighten highlights. Composition becomes mainly important when shooting in black and white. Using certain aspect ratios such as the 1:1 or square format makes composition easier. Shooting a black and white photo requires the ability to see shapes, lines, and textures, otherwise your picture will become dull.
